It's not a secret that you've got a soft spot for sugar.

And you can't be the only one who's ever hoovered Thin Mints and still had room for dessert.

That's what Sweets Bakeshop is counting on.

The bakery has double-downed its stake in the local market with a second location in Minneapolis. In the spot formerly occupied by Madwoman, the St. Paul cupcakes and French macaroons destination has a bigger petite cafe. (FYI, for those who miss the gluten-free Madwoman, the macaroons are g-free and you can special order cupcakes.)

In addition to sublime, light as air macaroons, you'll find the biggest variety of cupcake flavors in the state. Check the weekly schedule, but we're fans of the kettlecorn, nutroll and breakfast (with bacon!). We hear banana (available Thursdays) with salted caramel filling and cinnamon butter cream frosting is the best. If all goes as planned, that sugar high will morph into an infectious good vibe and you'll want to stick around for awhile and enjoy a brewed-to-order cup of Kopplin's coffee or Tea Source tea or a cup of 2 percent milk by Pride of Mainstreet of Hastings.

In other words: love, sweets and harmony.
