Long before "Sex and the City," Kim Cattrall caught our eye in 1987 film classic "Mannequin."

The secret lives of humanoid display figures recently captured the interest of writer Annie Scott.

Originally from Minneapolis and currently based in New York City, she has traveled the world as a scribe and thespian.

On a press trip to Holland, she was struck by the especially "dramatic" mannequins there.

She immediately purchased the URL for Blasé Mannequins and started putting words in her muses' non-moving mouths.

Mary, the mannequin pictured here, was the first post. Per the site, she's the wife of a visiting foreign dignitary who says: "You can't sit here. I'm shopping."

Annie posts new models every weekday. It's a good idea to listen to what they have to say.

Just don't call them dummies.
