Sending flowers -- all about the details. (Is anything worse than baby's breath?)
Spruce, a new florist and home accessories shop, is all about specifics. Owner Amy Backman has put together a charming retail location filled with great ideas, including fresh flowers, houseplants and home accessories.
You'll find everything from adorable pillows made from obis and vintage silks by local designer Joynoelle, Tocca candles and blooming plants from the Minnesota-based Len Busch (we took home a vibrant Kalanchoe).
There are plenty of vases with the idea that you might find one and feel the need to stop by for a fresh bud or two every week. You can pick out your stems from a walk-in cooler that has flower names and prices written on chalkboard so you know exactly what you're getting (we've got our eye on the gorgeous Scabiosa ($3).
Feeling inspired? Spruce will soon be offering classes at the store's in house "flower bar."
That's what we call petal power.
