Todays pic Eat (and play)

Have a sushi feast and learn the craft of rice-making and roll rolling. Every Sunday in Feb., you can take a two-hour class at Crave (Galleria, Edina) evening classes at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.. For $75, you'll learn how to make five different rolls, including the Minnesota Roll, which includes cooked walleye. You'll learn in small groups of five people, from the best--Crave's sushi chef Tony Lam. Make your reservation by calling 952-697-6000. Not into D-I-Y? Dine in the brand new enclosed patio (pictured), so you can dine under the stars in Minnesota year-round. We say--please keep the heat on!

Get beautiful (on the cheap!)

At Rocco Altobelli Salons & Day Spas, get a deal and make a donation to Second Harvest Heartland this weekend. On Sat. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., if you donate $20 and a food item, you can get a haircut and style or hair color; for $15 and a food item, you get a lip and brow wax , manicure or 15-minute chair massage. Plus, if you bring in a food item (boxed meals, hearty soups, dried beans/rice, juices are much needed) now through Sat., you?ll get 10 percent off a retail item. See www.roccoaltobelli.com for the eight locations.

Shop

If you're going to invest, how about the True Religion boutique at the Mall of America (first floor, south). The spring collection just arrived this week. Their top seller at the moment? Jeans with Swarovski crystal buttons. Hey, we still need a little bling. Plus check out the sale at Club Monaco--long cashmere gloves for $9? Orange is suddenly our new favorite color.
